Hi there,
I was at the SANG event last month and while I was there I had the wonderful opportunity to meet with Tim, a long term client. It’s always fun to meet face to face when we’ve worked together for years.
This month’s Featured News showcases inspirational highlights from the SANG event that I thought you would enjoy. There were many thought leaders and speakers who shared from their experiences and expertise. Also in this month’s ezine you’ll find a Q&A about Creating Leadership Communications.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that when you receive my ezine in August you will be the first to receive a link to my Inner Circle Report “Stealth Tools for Wealthy, Successful Guys”, so stay tuned!
Have an amazing month!

I’ll be taking questions from you each month that will appear in future ezines. Please submit a comment with your question and look for my responses in a future ezine blogs.
Q: Hey Joy, what ideas do you have for better communication? I’m in leadership roles in my life and always want to improve in this area. Thanks,
–Jonathan, Massachusettes
A: Hi Jonathan, thanks for asking, as this is a conversation I often have with my clients. I talk about how “communication is based on the response that you get.” And in addition to that, relationships are so important to people, and when there is no communication, there is no relationship, period.
Here are a few tools to become an expert in communication – Top 3 Tools In Creating Leadership Communications. There are three emotional states to focus on when you’re in communication:
- See yourself as Inferior. The person you’re in communication has had different experiences in their life that you haven’t had, so they are superior to you in those areas. Follow their pace to build rapport. Listen thoughtfully, ask quality questions.
- See yourself as Equal. Based on what you learned in #1, create the communication around similar likes or interests. It’s important to first see where you are an Inferior or an Equal with the other person to create rapport, connection and respect with them. And you can’t be a leader if you’re only seen as an Inferior or an Equal, so the next tool is equally as important:
- See yourself as Superior. Communicate based on what you are Superior in, not from an ego or significance mindset, rather you’re sharing with them [based on paying attention to what you learned about them from the Inferior or Equal role] based on your expertise or knowledge base so you can find where you can make a contribution to them. They will naturally want to make a contribution to you.
Jonathan, when you are choosing to be a Leader in your life, one of the secrets is to create an emotion of respect. Communication from a respectful mindset will get you the results you’re looking for.
See you next month!
Joy

Hi…I liked your thoughts on communication…so many people talk down to others to try and justify their position in life or they are afraid to listen and perhaps get a better response/idea…listening to others’ ideas is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Hi Gary, Thanks for your comment. People so often have their own conversation going on in their heads, even when the other person they are in communication with is the one speaking. The Tools are a structure to become more aware of how you can be present to the conversations you’re in. It’s not always about winning or judging, sometimes it’s more about learning and caring.
