It’s the beginning of a brand new year and a great time to gain even more clarity in the categories that are most important to you. If Maximizing Your Career and Your Life is a MUST for you, then NOW is the time to decide and commit that 2011 is the year to move away from ‘resolutions’ and ‘wants’ and move towards ‘goals’ and ‘MUSTS’.

Feel free to change, split or rename any category so that it’s meaningful for your Career and your Life.

Next, taking the center of the wheel as 1 and the outer edge as 10 [being most], rank your level of satisfaction with each area by drawing a line to create a new outer edge. No need to over analyze, go with your first gut response.

The new perimeter of the circle represents your ‘Wheel of Career or Life’. Is it a bumpy ride?

Draw another line to rank your level of where you must be in the next 90 days.

Shade the area between the level of satisfaction to where you must be.  Now you clearly see your shaded gaps in the categories of your career and your life.  These are the areas for you to focus on in the next 90 days.

Q: Please help me understand what a coach does and doesn’t do, and help me understand how much information you want from me and what you do not want to know.

A:  Hi Eric, am happy to sort that out for you.  There are many different types of coaches out there with different experiences, training, passions and expertise.

There are business coaches, wellness coaches, wealth coaches, life coaches and more.

My focus is on peak performance and executive coaching.  The clients that typically come to me for coaching are looking for even more success in their career and their life.  As you may have noticed from the wheels in the Featured News, there are plenty of categories to work on!

Over the years I have created numerous proprietary systems and technologies. These systems and technologies create the underlying structure of how we work together, and this proprietary structure gives my clients a focused, customized approach.  We begin the process with in depth surveys and assessments and build on a specific process designed specifically for you.

And since this is your customized coaching program, you set the agenda.  I’ll go wherever you are, and I’ll keep track of your goals and assessments and our conversations along the way; moving you forward, holding you accountable and providing a plethora of proven resources.

Many of my clients come to coaching when they realize there’s more untapped potential and it’s now a time in their life where it’s more painful to stay where they are, than it is to make the positive changes that move them into even more success.  The coaching process helps the clients to get laser sharp focus and learn what actions they must take to achieve their dreams.

What don’t I do?  I don’t do your work. And I won’t work harder than you’re willing to work.  I’m here to guide, teach, coach, inspire, push, be an accountability partner, and more.  I don’t do your job: consistently showing and playing full out – utilizing all the resources, taking action and celebrating along the way!

And about your other comment Eric, about what I want or don’t want to hear from you? Believe me, after coaching employees for six years and clients around the globe for ten years, I have heard it all.  There isn’t anything I don’t want to hear from you.

Having said that, we do have a term in coaching called ‘bottom line it’.  Meaning – I don’t need to hear your entire story with all the details, just give me the ‘bullet points’.  When people tell a negative story over and over again it ‘builds roots’ and just gets stronger, and that old story is no longer just in your past, it’s now running your life in the present too.  In coaching I’ll help you become aware of your old stories and will also help you create new, empowering stories that support the growth you seek.

A ‘bottom line it’ definition of coaching? Coaching fills the gap from where you are to where you must be.
